I’ve spent more than 19 years as a People and Culture professional, working in a number of industries and a wide range of people and culture roles. It’s been a privilege - and a passion - to support executives, managers and peers from all walks of life as they brought their skills, knowledge and abilities to the table every day. Together, we spent time working, focused on business priorities, driving for results and often running forward. A successful workplace needs that. Successful people need support.
But a workplace needs more than that. Your people need more than that. You are worth it. They are worth it.

Meet Millie Harris
Millie has a passion for driving success through efficient project management, strong communication skills and a deep understanding of an organization's short and long term goals. This passion has brought her here, to help individuals and corporations reach their full potential within people and culture. She started this journey only a few years ago, by total accident and quickly realized this was her JAM! She’s had the opportunity to work with the most wonderful Operations & Engagement Team inside their People and Operations department, an organization that has prioritized its culture and found herself nestled in the world of enriching workplace experiences and promoting employee engagement. With lots of tea and coffee in her system, she loves working with anything that allows her to get creative, yet also enjoys streamlining processes and staying organized. She never pulls back from diving into a spreadsheet or digging into a brainstorming session. Driven by positive feedback and seeing the implementation of a new or improved process that’s made a significant impact on the efficiency of a team. You can either find Millie sneaking away with a bag of salt & vinegar chips (yes, she admits to an unhealthy obsession) or running a half marathon. Her goal is to run a half marathon in every continent and so far she’s already done 3! The combination of her creativity and pragmatic approach makes for the perfect combo and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by her willingness to revisit ideas, discuss alternate solutions and then make analytical assessments on what is best suited in any given circumstance.

HAVE YOU EVER WITNESSED THE MAGIC OF A STARLING MURMURATION?

Individually, a starling is little more than a common blackbird...
Collectively, though, starlings transform into mesmerizing flocks that sometimes number in the hundreds of thousands. They are a breath-stealing wonder; a pulsating, swooping, living, harmonized whole, seemingly defying the laws of nature while defining nature itself.
Scientists believe murmurations are similar to other systems, such as crystals forming, avalanches, metals becoming magnetized and liquids turning to gasses. These systems are “on the edge,” which means they’re ready to be completely transformed in an instant.
"There are two ways you can elicit large group behavior. You can have top-down control, where you have some kind of leadership, or some kind of top-down mechanism. Think of a rock show; you have the rock star in the front and he starts clapping his hands, and the whole stadium starts clapping. But these murmurations are actually self-organized, meaning that it’s the individual’s little behavioral rules that make it scale up to the large group. In order to understand this behavior, we have to go from the local scale — what is the individual doing, what are the rules that the individual is following? — to the global scale: what is the outcome? "
